1. DAY 1 - Bariloche

30 MINUTES IN TRANSFER

TALK INTRODUCTION AND ACCOMMODATION AT HOTEL IN BARILOCHE (C)

Arrival at the international airport of Bariloche where a private transfer will take you to your Hotel located in the center of this beautiful city surrounded by lakes and mountains, located in the very heart of the Patagonian Andes. We suggest you arrive early to enjoy it. At 6 in the afternoon your guide will meet the group at the Hotel to give you a brief overview of what will happen in the coming days. Dinner in traditional meat restaurant.

2. 2 DAY - Bariloche / Río Pichileufú

NIGHT IN CAMP (D, BL, T, C)

Transfer to the Ñirihuau area, located at 30 km / 45 min from Bariloche where we will find a variety of small family establishments. These settlers are mainly dedicated to the raising of sheep, cattle and horses, but also to forests. We start touring the Las Buitreras hill, panoramic point. We will ride in the pre-cordillera between sierras with knife shapes and infinite steppe. After a lunch in front of the Pichileufú River, we continue through open landscapes, going up the river to its source. Night in camp.

3. 3 DAY - Río Pichileufú / Alto Chubut

NIGHT IN CAMP (D, BL, T, C)

We will leave behind the landscape of soft hills and deep valleys, beginning to climb a path used by countrymen to move with their animals until reaching the “Nameless Passage” at 1.700 m. snm. When leaving this area of ​​rocks, we find a landscape that opens towards the immensity of a huge valley located in the middle of the mountain range, the “Alto Chubut”. The journey continues until we reach an idyllic location surrounded by an old Lengas forest where we will camp.

4. 4 DAY - Alto Chubut / El Sapucai

NIGHT IN REFUGE OF MOUNTAIN SEPUCAI (D, BL, T, C)

We continue bordering the transparent Chubut river to continue down to the Patagonian steppe; This region of dry vegetation where the Coirón, Neneo, Calafate and some small Ñirres are still present. The river crosses stone canyons, passing through old animal care posts. We arrive in the afternoon to our special mountain refuge the Sapucai.

5. 5 DAY - The Sapucai / Las Lagunas / El Sapucai

NIGHT IN REFUGE OF MOUNTAIN SEPUCAI (D, BL, T, C)

This day we will climb the Cordillera to appreciate the panoramic view of the Andes that surrounds us. We will appreciate the skill of the Creole horse crossing different lands: mallines, lenga forests and rocky terrain. At the end of this climb we will reach a wonderful sightseeing place where we will be able to appreciate the lagoons where we will have lunch in front of the Andes mountains with eternal snow. We return following another path that crosses forests of scrubby ñires and old Lenga forests until we reach our refuge.

6. 6 DAY- The Sapucai / Puesto Viejo / Lago Puelo

NIGHT IN B & B (D, BL, T, C)

Today is our last day with the Argentinian Creole horses. We will follow the course of the Chubut River until we reach the Old Post. We will cross small settlements where people live from livestock production throughout the year. In their majority they are inhabitants that descend from the original culture from this region: The Mapuches, forgotten these days in the remoteness of the Patagonian lands. An old abandoned school will be the meeting place with our transfer. We will share another picnic with our Argentinean baqueanos before leaving them. We travel by minibus for two hours to the town of Lago Puelo, which has a microclimate. Surrounded by native forests, cypresses and maitenes, there are farms with fine fruit such as the well-known raspberry, cherries and extensive hop plantations for the production of craft beers. Night in B&B and dinner at a local restaurant.

7. 7 DAY- Lago Puelo / Island Las Bandurrias

NIGHT IN CABAÑA LAS BANDURRIAS (B, L, D, C)

Today we will leave Argentina to enter Chile. Our lodging is located at 10 minutes from Lago Puelo National Park where we will comply with the customs procedures to embark on the international boat. We will sail along two lakes and cross the rapids that unite Argentina and Chile. We leave the boat for a walk of 15 minutes to the Chilean border post. After customs procedures, another boat will take us to Las Bandurrias Island through Lake Las Rocas. The landscape of crystalline blue waters, its surrounding mountains with its humid jungle is contrasted with the steppe. A warm welcome will be waiting for you in your exclusive cabin in the Bandurrias.

8. 8 DAY- Las Bandurrias Island / Blue Lake / Las Bandurrias Island

5-6 HOURS RIDING

NIGHT IN CABAÑA LAS BANDURRIAS (B, L, D, C)

Departure from the Island to find the Chilean Creole horses and the baqueanos on the shore of the lake. A brief stop in the Campo la Colina is the first approach of the Chilean mountain fields. The trip continues crossing a mountain range with views of Blue Lake to finally reach the beach where we will have lunch. Leaving the lake, we will ride through an old Selva Valdiviana forest. This temperate humid forest, with vegetation with diverse variety of flora, exists in very few places in Chile and is remarkable for its age and variety. Narrow trails, wet lands and very old trees will be our stage of the day. Majestic mountains, forests and landscapes will not be alien to our gaze. Short navigation to Las Bandurrias Island. Accommodation in cabin.

9. 9 DAY- Las Bandurrias Island / Las Rosas

7-8 HOURS RIDING

NIGHT AT HOUSE OF PEOPLE (D, BL, T, C)

Our journey continues through the forests until we find the source of the Puelo River. A boatman crosses the horses swimming through this river. The trail continues towards an Andean settlement in this area, Segundo Corral. After climbing a mountain range, we will have lunch in front of Las Mellizas lagoons surrounded by mountains. In the afternoon we will go down to the valley of the Ventisqueros River which we will cross on horseback. We will arrive at the house of a family of settlers where we will lodge.

10. 10 DAY- Las Rosas / Ventisqueros

6-7 HOURS RIDING

NIGHT AT HOUSE OF PEOPLE (D, BL, T, C)

Today we will continue with our horses in a long journey up the Ventisqueros River Valley. We will cross many rivers on horseback, fabulous landscapes, a valley with few inhabitants who live on self-subsistence thanks to the breeding of cattle. We rest on the river bank for lunch and then we continue until almost the end of the valley where a small house will accommodate us for 2 nights.

11. 11 DAY- Ventisqueros / El Toro

4 HOURS RIDING

NIGHT AT HOUSE OF PEOPLE (D, BL, T, C)

This day we will visit a neighboring valley that will bring us closer to the view of a hanging glacier. The road is full of vegetation and at the end we will have the possibility of being in a larch forest (Fitzroya Cupresoyde). Nobody lives in this area that is really remote and virgin. Excellent views, pristine nature. We will enjoy a box lunch near the river "el Toro" and return to the home of our hosts in the afternoon. This early return will leave us the afternoon to enjoy and explore the surroundings on foot, rest or bathe in the river.

12. 12 DAY- Ventisqueros / Las Rosas

We continue our journey towards the Puelo River. Ancient forests, open pampas, river crossings, a long day ahead surrounded by mountains, waterfalls and solitary landscapes. We will enjoy, as always, at noon a succulent lunch on the banks of the Ventisqueros River. In the afternoon, the trip continues leaving the valley and going through different properties where the villagers continue the rural work just as their ancestors did. The vegetation becomes dense in certain parts of the path. Last night in the house of settlers.

13. 13 DAY- Las Rosas / Llanada Grande / Puerto Varas

ACCOMMODATION IN PUERTO VARAS (D, BL, T, C)

This last day, crossing properties along the Puelo River, we will reach Puerto Urrutia, the place where "bandeo municipal" takes place. In this place the horses swim for the last time before continuing on the mountain trail. We will take advantage of this last section, crossing some notorious forests that offer a sumptuous view over the river Puelo. We will arrive at Llanada Grande, the last stage of our ride. Time to say goodbye to our fellow passengers. A last lunch in the valley will be prepared in the first restaurant in town. A transfer will take us to Tagua-Tagua Lake. We will cross with the vehicle by Ferry for 40 minutes, arriving afterwords to the other side of the Lake and following our long but beautiful trip, bordering the Reloncaví Estuary, to later get to see the Llanquihue Lake with the Calbuco and Osorno Volcanoes, which are part of the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park. Arrival in Puerto Varas, where we will find our hotel for the last night, enjoy a well deserved dinner and say goodbye to each other.

14. 14 DAY- Transfer Puerto Varas / Airport (D)
