Itinerary

1. 1 DAY

NIGHT IN CABINS IN SAN FABIÁN DE ALICO (C)

  • Reception of the group in the afternoon, we have a traditional chilean dinner in the house of a nice couple from San Fabián, birthplace of Nicanor and Violeta Parra.

2. 2 DAY

1 TIME IN TRANSFER

4 HOURS RIDING

NIGHT IN CAMP (DS-PK-C)

    Breakfast in the cabins. Departure from the town at 7h30 in 4 × 4 vehicles, following the beautiful Ñuble river towards the East, and then its afluent the "El Sauce" river until reaching the town of Pichirrincón, where the last houses of the valley are located and where our horses and baqueanos await for us. After the technical talk, we will start riding through the valley of the Gonzalez River, passing through the house of a couple of muleteers, crossing rivers and looking for condors in the sky. We will camp in La Invernadita, on the banks of the Gonzalez River, where we will taste a delicious goat "asado" before spending our first night in the Andes mountain range, under a beautiful starry sky.

3. 3 DAY

4 HOURS RIDING

NIGHT IN CAMP (DS-PK-C)

    • After a hearty breakfast, we will continue our adventure riding along the edge of the Gonzalez River, before entering the Valley of Tragedies. We will reach the the Tragedies falls, where we will stop to bathe and enjoy this incredible place. We will camp near the falls or a little higher depending on the size of the group.

4. 4 DAY

2 HOURS RIDING

NIGHT IN CAMP (DS-PK-C)

This day we will visit the beautiful "Baúl" lagoon , where we will get to bathe, have lunch, and rest!! Those who want to continue walking will be able to discover other lagoons in this same valley. Then we will continue to Las Vegas sector near Fuentecillas Lagoon, a wonderful place for our last night ...

5. 5 DAY

4 TO 5 HOURS OF CABALGATA

NIGHT IN CABAÑA (DS-PK-C)

After a nice breakfast, we will continue climbing to very high areas of the mountain range, with incredible views over the area's volcanoes, and high Andean lagoons. We will go through the doorway of the Chivato sector and begin to go down the Chivato valley, until we reach the town of El Sauce, where we will close the loop of our circuit! We will arrive in San Fabián in the afternoon, where a good farewell dinner will be waiting for us.

8. WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING

  • To have on hand in your saddlebag: bottle of water, knife, snack, camera, swimsuit, toilet paper, coat and sunscreen
  • The rest of the things are delivered each morning to the guide, who will return them at arrival in the next camp (please do not take too many things apart from your sleeping bag, mattress, clothes, towel, lantern and personal hygiene material).
  • Ecological soap if soap is used
  • Personal fishing equipment
  • Personal medications if required
  • Hats if you do not wear helmets, good shoes, comfortable clothes and long-sleeved shirts (the sun is strong in the mountains)
  • Long pants (riding, jeans, etc.)
  • Chaps of half leg / full leg
  • Long-sleeved shirts to protect from the sun
  • Riding boots also suitable for hiking. Riding boots are not recommended since their sole is very smooth
  • Gloves
